Product Description

Ball Valve Overview

Customized services are available for all valve series, including ball valves, globe valves, check valves, gate valves, butterfly valves, safety valves, and control valves.

The most common types of manual ball valves are the 1-Piece, 2-Piece and 3-Piece. Another relatively common type is the 3-way ball valve; these 4 types account for the vast majority of the most often used valves.

One Piece Ball Valve

A One-Piece has a valve body cast out of a single piece of material. This means there are no joints in the body which eliminates the risk of leaks. It has a smaller body than other valves, making it cost-effective. This results in a smaller ball and a reduced port, meaning the internal diameter decreases by one size at the installation point. Generally used where cleaning is not a primary concern.

Two Piece Ball Valve

A Two-Piece has a valve body cast out of two pieces that thread together. It allows for a larger ball and a full port, maintaining a constant internal diameter. They are highly commonly used and ideal for applications requiring optimal flow rates. The body can be dismantled for cleaning, though it requires removal from the pipe.

Three Piece Ball Valve

A Three-Piece valve body is held together by bolt connections at each end. It allows for a full port and is ideal for regular maintenance. By loosening bolts, the internal ball and seats can be accessed without removing the ends from the pipe, making it perfect for food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.

Three Way Ball Valve (L-Port & T-Port)

Multi-port valves used for mixing, splitting (T-Port), or diverting (L-Port) fluid streams via an L-shaped or T-shaped bore.

  • L-Port: Used as diverter valves or selector valves.
L-Port Diagram
  • T-Port: Used as mixing valves or for splitting flow to two outlets simultaneously.
T-Port Diagram Key Features
  • Pressure rating up to 6000 psig (413 Bar) at 70ºF (21ºC) with PCTFE seats
  • Temperature rating from -65ºF to 350ºF (-54ºC to 177ºC) with standard PCTFE seat
  • Compact and straight through design for max. flow rate
  • Body materials available in 316 stainless steel and brass
  • 100% factory tested
Operation Mechanism

The ball valve operates by rotating the ball 90 degrees using a handle or actuator. When the hole aligns with the ports, the valve is open; when perpendicular, it is closed. High pressure industrial ball valves are designed to withstand conditions typically ranging from a few hundred to several thousand psi, using robust materials like stainless steel and carbon steel.

Industry Applications

Commonly used in oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, chemical processing, and water treatment. They offer quick operation, excellent sealing, minimal pressure drop, and extreme durability.

Frequently Asked Questions

What materials are available for the ball valve body?
We offer a wide range of materials including WCB/A105, LCB/LF2, CF8/F304, CF8M/F316, and low-carbon options like CF3/F304L and CF3M/F316L to suit different industrial needs.
What is the difference between a 2-piece and 3-piece ball valve?
A 2-piece valve has a larger body allowing for a full port but must be removed from the pipe for seal servicing. A 3-piece valve allows access to the internal ball and seats by simply loosening bolts, without removing the pipe connections, making it ideal for sanitary applications.
What pressure ratings can these valves handle?
Our ball valves are designed for high-pressure conditions, with ratings up to 6000 psig (413 Bar) at 70ºF when equipped with PCTFE seats.
Are these valves suitable for extreme temperatures?
Yes, depending on the material. For example, CF8/F304 and CF8M/F316 series can handle temperatures ranging from -196°C to 427°C.
What are L-Port and T-Port configurations used for?
L-Port valves act as diverters to direct flow from one inlet to one of two outlets. T-Port valves are used for mixing flow from two inlets into one outlet or splitting flow to two outlets simultaneously.
What testing is performed before delivery?
All valves undergo 100% factory testing in accordance with GB/T-13927 and JB/T-9092 standards to ensure reliability and safety under high-pressure conditions.
